Hello and welcome to my Homepage!
I want to thank you for your interest in my music. I do hope you will take the time to cruise the site to learn more about me and my songs. For the latest gig news, please scroll down.
Since the release of my debut CD “Since We Were Young” in 2008, I have been actively promoting my music at various engagements including The Canmore Folk Festival, Canmore Canada Day, Canmore’s artsPeak Festival, Cochrane Arts Festival, Beaumont Blues Festival and the Winterfolk Festival in Toronto as well as appearances at several venues in Canmore, The GTA on Salt Spring Island and beyond. For the past 8 years I have been accompanied by Joan Voyce who provides wonderful vocals, including many featured tunes. Joan and I would welcome the opportunity to provide entertainment for your next event.

Another big change, Joan and I have returned to our home in Canmore in order to be closer to our family and long time friends. Salt Spring was an amazing experience and we learned so much and met great people, but, it wasn’t home. Looking forward to re-connecting with folks in Canmore, being in our home and seeing what the next steps might be.

Well, there has been a major lifestyle change for us this Fall as on October 1st we took up residence in an apartment on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. After over 40 years in Canmore is is truly a bittersweet experience but it was a few years in the making and we are feeling very positive about the change in our pace of life.
Salt Springs offers a wide range of musical opportunities and I have been enjoying hanging out with ‘the locals’ at a couple of Open Mics, one at the Legion and the other at Mobey’s Pub. Both offer the opportunity to build my circle of contacts and I am pleased to report that I have made some good connections.
Joan has become involved in 3 different choirs and is enjoying both the opportunity to meet new folks and to continue to develop the choral side of her repertoire. Two of the groups, Viva Chorale and Bach on the Rock have concerts coming up June 2/3 and June 9.
On February 27th, we did a condensed show for the residents of the local long term care facility, Greenwood, and had a fabulous time singing some of the older tunes that awakened those fond musical memories. The power of music is really just amazing. We are working on a return visit there as one way of giving back to our new community.
On May 9th, I participated in a Songwriting Working with multiple awards winner, David Francey. The evening was hosted by Tracey Harrison from Art By Harrison in her fabulous new Mandala Yurt Studio. This event included about a dozen local songwriters and was just an excellent way to reach out and connect.
On May 25th, Joan and I did our first full on gig at the Royal Canadian Legion # 92 and had a really good time introducing our act to Members and guests alike. We are looking forward to a return date there in the near future.
Obviously, we are on the lookout for other opportunities and I am exploring some more local ideas and some off-island venues as well. I will keep you posted on what comes up. In the meantime, Joan and I look forward to seeing you at one of our events and we would be pleased to discuss how we might be a part of an event you are organizing!
Ric!
